An experienced attorney with more than 30 years in the Family Law arena, Charla spent the first 10 years of her legal career involved in the litigation of Family Law cases in Tarrant, Dallas and surrounding counties. Mediation became an important part of her practice after training in General and Family Law Mediation. Before her appointment as an Associate Judge in the Family Courts in 2005, she was heavily involved in both litigation and mediation. In 2008 she resumed the practice of law and mediation with her husband of many years, Jim Moore.
Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1995, Charla is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. She has, with her experience as a Family Law Judge, a triple perspective: from the bench , at counsel table and facilitating the mediation process. She is intimately familiar with the judicial system from the position of Judge as well as an active advocate for clients and as a Family Law Mediator.
Mediation continues to be an integral part of Charla=s practice with both private attorney referrals and appointments by Family Law Judges. Custody litigation, while often the most emotionally charged of Family Law cases, is also her favorite area for litigation when negotiation and mediation cannot resolve a case.
